O Captain! My Captain!
哦，船长，我的船长！
惠特曼悼念林肯遇刺的名作。船长把船领回了港口，可他自己却倒在了甲板上，再也起不来了。岸上的人欢呼着胜利，叙述者守在父亲般的船长身边，用三段一遍遍逼近同一个事实——他真的死了。同主题可对照本站林肯的《葛底斯堡演说》。
